HOW WE HELP
We believe everyone deserves a home.

Our mission
Volunteer Ministry Center is dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness
in Knoxville and Knox County, Tennessee.
Our approach
With a client-centered approach, homelessness is a problem that can be more than managed - it can be solved. We meet our neighbors where they are with a continuum of effective and supportive services.

Our core values
We welcome and have genuine respect for all. Through compassion and accountability, our dedicated staff works cooperatively and mutually with each neighbor to achieve the best possible long-term results.
is a community leader with over three decades of experience in providing services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of losing housing.
VMC operates several programs: The Resource Center, Rapid Rehousing, The Bush Family Refuge, Street Outreach, Permanent Supportive Housing (Minvilla Manor & Caswell Manor), and the VMC Dental Clinic.
The goal for all clients is housing. VMC offers services to prevent the loss of housing and provides case management and other resources to assist individuals into housing.
Once housing is achieved, the case management relationship continues until a level of self-sufficiency is reached, thus ensuring success for maintaining housing.
In addition to housing services, our team engages and serves individuals who have urgent needs such as those living on the street and those who seek help through our Resource Center or Bush Family Refuge.
