Bruce is on location this episode “under the bridge” off Broadway where many of the city’s homeless population would often gather. See how the City of Knoxville has transformed this area into a park where individuals experiencing homelessness can be in a safe, clean environment that allows them to connect with services leading towards permanent housing. Seeing 50-100 visitors daily, the park is open during day hours and has asphalt, sanitation, fencing, benches/tables, toilet facilities, and security. Through a partnership with The City of Knoxville, VMC is providing Outreach Case Mangers to connect those that visit the park with services that will assist them in leaving the streets and achieving housing.
